Recently the Beetles celebrated the 50th anniversary of their début on The Ed Sullivan Show. Yes, I am old enough to remember that night. Like most young girls, I was glued to the television and sang right along with them. I shook my hair and longed to hold their hand.
The Beetles repertoire lives on today. A vast number of their songs are about love. Many of their lyrics are quoted between friends and those who are more than friends. One particular phrase from a song has stayed with me over the years: “All you need is love.” In the midst of all the turmoil and strife in our lives, I’d like to believe that love really is all we need. Love holds the key to good memories and warm thoughts. It gives us pause to close our eyes and feel the warmth of a hug and picture love shining in a smile. Love fills the niche and gives a reason to return the love. Mother Teresa said, “Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.”
Let’s all smile and give out some love today and every day because love is all you need… yeah, yeah, yeah!
